Environment

With his team, the Environmental Commissioner of the Protestant Church in Württemberg offers:

  • information and training material on issues and questions concerning creation-theology and the environment.
  • ideas, guidance and follow-up on pilot projects (including Agenda 21 nature conservation and environmental management projects).
  • transport and environment-related consultation services for church congregations and institutions
  • contacts with ecumenical institutions and networks across Europe.
  • training courses.

The Environmental Commissioner is appointed by the State Church to coordinate its ongoing environmental work. He works with two academic co-workers under in the Environmental Service section of Evangelical Community Service for Württemberg.

Together with the Environment Council of the State Church, he works to promote a sustainable society in line with Agenda 21.
Witness to God, the creator and conserver of the cosmos, is fundamental to all activities.

The Commissioner works in close cooperation with:
  • the contact people for environmental affairs in the congregations and dioceses.
  • the Environmental Conservation Volunteers of the
    Evangelical Church of Germany
    (AGU).
  • the European Christian Environment Network (ECEN)
